Samuel Kambari:
Born in Jinja, Uganda in 1990, Samuel Kambari now lives and works in Kigali, Rwanda. Kambari’s unique style combines semi-abstraction with the use of traditional African fabrics, called kitenje. Having a degree in Agro-forestry, Kambari’s paintings often show landscapes of Uganda and Rwanda. His use of colors and textures also show striking, semi-figurative depictions of female empowerment and gender equality concepts. With a growing international reputation, Samuel Kambari continues to use his art to bring voice to important human rights and social justice topics across international platforms.
