Health

The Bridge to Hope continues to educate local communities on the importance of health awareness.

Currently, we have funded the health insurance for over 150 people in the rural communities. We are planning to begin small workshops to emphasize the necessity of basic health awareness and hygiene. Through these workshops, we plan to increase knowledge and awareness on common health issues that face these local communities.

The Details

The lack of access to basic health facilities and common health awareness impacts communities in Rwanda.

Some Impacts:

  • Lower life Expectancy*

  • Higher probability of dying under the age of 5*

  • Less investment in public health awareness programs*

  • Higher infant mortality rate*

  • Much higher maternal mortality rate*

    • What do all these facts mean?

      • Majority of Rwandans, mainly in rural and deprived areas, have little to no access to reliable health options.

      • Many of the top 10 causes of death in Rwanda are preventable and related to hygiene and clean water.*

    • What are we doing?

      • The Bridge to Hope is investing in health awareness in rural Rwanda. This vastly improves access to health facilities for deprived communities. We are also working on providing health awareness education to the local communities in hopes to reduce illness and preventable deaths.
